Our commitment
New Chapter Education Group respects the privacy of educators, centre and school staff, and other people who contact or work with us. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store and protect personal information.
Information we may collect
Depending on the service or enquiry, we may collect:
- participant and organisational names and contact details;
- professional learning priorities and access requirements voluntarily provided;
- course participation, reflections, feedback and completion records;
- licence, billing and service records;
- communications and enquiries; and
- technical information generated through our website or learning platforms.
How information is collected
We may collect information through Learning Hub registration and sign-in, checkout and enrolment, course participation, course and licence enquiries, professional learning platforms, email, telephone, workshops, Zoom or Microsoft services and business administration.
Why we collect and use information
We use information to respond to enquiries, deliver professional learning, manage course access and centre licences, support participants, keep service records and improve our courses.
Sensitive information
We only seek sensitive information, such as health, disability or learning-adjustment information, when it is reasonably necessary to support a participant’s access to professional learning. Please provide only information relevant to the service being considered or delivered.
Service providers and disclosure
We may use trusted providers to operate our services, including the Learning Hub, Supabase for account and learning records, Cloudflare for hosting, Stripe for checkout, Microsoft 365, Zoom and professional service providers. Third-party technology providers may process or store information on our behalf outside Australia. Processing and storage locations depend on the provider and service configuration. We take reasonable steps to use appropriate providers and limit access to what is needed.
We may also disclose information where you have authorised us to do so, where necessary to prevent a serious threat to safety, or where required or authorised by law. We do not sell personal information.
Storage and security
Information may be held electronically and, where necessary, in paper records. We take reasonable steps to protect it against loss, misuse, interference, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. No internet or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Retention
Personal information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for course administration, learner records, legal obligations, tax requirements and legitimate business purposes. There is no universal retention period for all records. Information that is no longer required will be securely deleted, destroyed or de-identified where practical and lawful.
The 12-month course access period does not determine how long every learner or business record must be retained.
Access and correction
You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you. We may need to verify your identity and authority before responding. Some legal exceptions may apply.
Privacy concerns
To ask a question or make a privacy complaint, contact us using the details below. Please explain the concern and provide relevant information. We will acknowledge and consider the matter and aim to respond within a reasonable period.
If you are not satisfied with our response and the Privacy Act applies, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
